When setting up a 2nd hand, or open box Hub, you may come across the following error if the previous owner did not properly remove their account.

"The Hub is currently registered to another user."

When this occurs you must contact Insteon support to have the previous account unassigned from the hub.

There are two ways to go about this. You can call in to 800-762-7845 and have them log into your computer to confirm the hub ID number, at which point they can put in an account deletion request.

Alternately you can send in an email with a screen shot taken from the site below to [email protected] along with a request for a hub account deletion, and the reason for deletion.

As long as you were on the topic of swapping out hubs what would be the proper procedure to follow if you wanted to replace a hub one with a new hub to? I have a hub 2 coming so as to stay current with technology. Can I remove the old hub and replace it with a new one?

The Hub (2014 edition) has different features from the Hub (2012), so you may want to hold off on that project. Switching to the newer unit will mean no longer having access to HouseLinc or x10 devices.
