I’m looking for a security system that will be very visible during night time as I want to keep an eye on my new office nearby my home. So I’m preferably searching for a wireless camera that direct notifications on my mobile. Can someone help me with the security camera installation? I would love to hear all your recommendations.

You'll probably want a heated enclosure. How/where do you intend to mount the camera?

BTW, even a wireless camera requires power.

I have used a lot of security systems both in my home and office , including major ones like the Brinks and AlarmForce. Even though brinks have a slightly complicated system, AlarmForce is easier for a user. There are some honest reviews in this site: http://goodalarmbadalarm.com . I hope this would be helpful for you.

I would recommend inexpensive Foscam C1. Great wireless security camera with night vision, motion detection, two-way audio and a lot more great features.

You can check review on this camera at: http://www.swameras.com/foscam-c1-review/

I recently got fined by ADT because of a false alarm at my house. I had to pay a lot of money as a penalty since the cops came and it wasn't an authentic emergency......so after a lot of pain and searching I did my research and I found this cool company called Home8 that does automated intrusion alarm systems. The company boasts zero false alarms because it's like futuristic with automated smartphone stuff, so I wanted to give it a try since it was much cheaper than the contract service that ADT provided. I would totally recommend to you guys to try out Home8, they've got a ton of affordable alarm systems that come in a box starting from 200 bucks. The package came with cameras, some kind of shuttle device thing that saves your video footage/data, and sensors.

It's really cool since I can monitor my home with a live stream from my smartphone - I also check up on my cat every know and then when I'm at work :)

Almost all my friends have the Home8 Tripleshield system now and they love it, I think it's way better than ADT since It's wayyyyy cheaper and the technology actually works. I will never work with ADT again since they charged me a TON of money for a false alarm and it cost me $$$$$$$$ when I'm already paying a ton of money on the contract....anyways in case you want to check out the home8 alarm systems I found their website and its www.home8alarm.com.
They also offer security camera installation with someone coming to help install the system for you. I think you'll be surprised because at first even I didn't know that this kind of stuff existed and was out there!!! Hope this helps guys, and god bless!

What would help is if you post back in say, two or three months, about your experience. Not what you are planning to do!

Too many different choices and I would like to point that you should purchase from somewhere can provide fully technical support. When the product has any technical problem, you can always find a solution.
I personally has the 4 cam wifi nvr system which I used outdoor and has the fully support from icaremore where I purchased from. They helped me to install it and solved all the issue I have so far.

Cameras are good for observing and recording, but cameras are not a security system.

Have you thought about whether you want bullet security cameras, dome, PTZ? They all have their different benefits but also different price points.

I'm glad I found this post. I'm looking around for a security/alarm system for my place because my wife has been having one of those "visions" again about us getting robbed (She should stop watching movies). We both leave for work and usually return back in the evening. Our neighbours are elderly folks who spend most of the time watching television so it's highly unlikely that they'll even notice if somebody broke into our house. I've made a checklist of all the basic features a security system would need. I've visited some websites mentioned in this thread. Surprisingly, most of them ticked the boxes. Here's one more to add to this helpful list - https://cspalarms.ca/
They have a page where they offer free alarms of some sort. I'll need to fill up a form and check that first.

Regards,
Alex

I suggest getting the wireless ones, either of Canary or Arlo pro. They have good night vision resolution and motion sensor. You might want to check its cons too. https://smartrobotichome.com/smart-security-camera-comparison/ One downside of arlo pro though is that the motion sensor somehow affects the batteries. But over all, I think it's worth checking.

Some more smart home cameras here: http://intelligenthomeblog.com/top-product-list/best-smart-camera/

This was on my list of things to do except a lot of them are pretty expensive.
