I just installed a ceiling fan/light that comes with a remote. I thought I would be able to put the infrared codes into harmony hub. To my dismay I found out the remote is RF radiofrequency. Has anybody found a good solution controlling the fan/light was some kind of radiofrequency blaster using app, Amazon echo or even insteon home automation system?

I am a disabled person and would like to control the fan/light smartly without the remote.

Thank you

James

Which specific fan? In many cases a FanLinc can be used in place of the original RF receiver (which is located in the fan canopy).

Depending on the frequency of the RF you may be able to use something like the Broadlink RM Pro
https://www.amazon.com/Broadlink-Automation-Universal-Compatible-Smartphones/dp/B072MF92S5/ref=sr_1_1?ie=UTF8&qid=1502661193&sr=8-1&keywords=broadlink+rm+pro
I have one and have all my RF and IR devices controlled with it.
I can even control via Alexa.
