I'm wondering if there is such a thing as an IR emitter WITHOUT the wires and stick-on thingys (which don't seem to stick on very long). I seem to recall a unit with a dome that sat on a tabletop, or hung on a wall, that could learn & control any component in the room. Basically I would like to control some components from afar without the unsightly wires. Anything like that exist?

My Logitech Harmony hubs have a great range. I even have on on a shelf facing the same way as the TV (not toward it).

Just remember IR does not work through walls. It's just light. The receiver needs to be illuminated either directly or by a reflection.
