My new home theater is currently under construction and I am investigating options for lighting.

The Sci-Fi-referenced design is going to incorporate wall panels that will be backlit, ideally with color-changing led strips.

I own multiple Philips Hue products which I am very pleased with. However, given the amount of lights I am going to need, I'm looking for a less costly alternative. Moreover, Philips light strip doesn't seem to be designed as a construction product for lighting extensive areas.

Anyway, does anyone know of any led strips that also work via wifi/smartphone app? The products I've seen all come with a little wonky remote and I'm not certainly multiple strips can be controlled in tandem.

Thanks for your thoughts!

It's a bit difficult to give knowledgeable advice without knowing the details, but your plan seems somewhat involved. If budget is an obstacle, then you may not get the result that you desire.

Can you be more specific about what your plan includes; construction (walls, ceiling-including area and volume), placement, wiring, etc.
