I have an insteon light that works perfectly except the "on" command does not work. It works manually at the switch, the dimmer works, the "fast on" works. Really weird. Any ideas?

You can set the On level (and ramp rate, in the case of a dimmer) when you create a scene. That sounds like the device was added to a scene with an On level of ‘Off’.

The solution in easy. Turn the light on on re-link the controller.

That is true. All the affected are on a scene that turns them off when it is on. How do I fix it?

Quickly double-tap the controller button/paddle to send a Fast On signal. That will override the dim level and ramp rate and turn all member devices on.

That works fine already. I need the "On" function to work. I need it for Alexa and Mobilink.

If double-tap turns the light on, but single-tap does not, it suggest ON levels and/or ramp rates are not set properly. (And I suspect that was the point of the suggestin from tfitzpatri8.). It sure sounds as if you have one of those messed up, eitther a very low ON level or a long ramp rate time.

Sounds like you are using an ISY, which functions a little differently from the Alexa with the INSTEON Hub. If you use Alexa or MobiLinc to turn on a SCENE, devices will adjust to the levels defined for that scene. If you use Alexa or MobiLinc to adjust a DEVICE, you can adjust the Local On settings for that device to change what is considered ‘On’, or you can do things like ask Alexa to ‘Set living room bulb to 20%’ to go directly to another level. You can adjust both Local On levels and Scene levels in the ISY Console.

For all things ISY, your best source of information is the ISY forum: http://Forum.universal-devices.com
