I have been removing all of the X10 devices from my home. I use the SignaLinc Plug-in Phase Coupler Repeater. It works well with my X10 but I do not believe it does anything to assist Insteon. It even flashes red when Insteon is sent.

Once I remove X10 should I replace it with a simple phase coupler?

If you have two dual-band devices installed per directions, you won't need to replace that unit.

Correct. The SignaLinc Plug-in Phase Coupler repeater will do nothing for Insteon.
I am using two Access Points in my setup. Dual Band Devices where no being made at the time.

You can select two dual-band devices, two Access Points, or even one of each.

The Access Point was really the second Insteon dual band device, whether or not they put that name on the product title.
