I have a Insteon 2450 with the sensors and it worked on my old garage door opener. I just replaced the opener with a Chamberlain and I cannot get the 2450 to open it. I can see the sensor go on and off if I move the door from the Chamberlain button, but not through the ISY. Any thoughts?

Which particular wall model did you connect the I/O Linc to? And to which specific terminals?

So...you cannot see the sensor go off when you move it through the ISY, but you can see the sensor change state when you move the door from the opener button? Are you suggesting that you are loosing comm with the sensor?

I recall certain garage doors (those with the more sophisticated controllers) may not respond to the simple momentary contact of the old style buttons or an IOlinc. But I don't recall having a sensor stop working when one replaces the opener.

The Chamberlain is Model HD930EV and the wires are connect to the first 2 terminals on the left. This is the same place the Chamberlain wall switch connects to.

As for the sensor, I see that working when I open and close the door with the Chamberlain remote. I cannot move the door through the ISY

My old opener was simple -- just wiring the common and NO contacts in parallel with the wall button did the job. The new Genie unit doesn't work like that, though. However, the circuit board (clearly visible when you look at the back of the Genie wall button) had a pair of solder pads that looked like they were wired in parallel with the wall button's push-button contacts -- a little testing proved that to be the case, and that's how I have it working with the Genie right now.

Perhaps your Chamberlain is similar, in that you'll need to wire it to the wall-mounted button unit instead of to the opener?

The model number you provided is not a wall unit. It's the opener.

Also, "the terminals on the left" is hardly descriptive.

There is no model # on the motion detector control panel.

Also the 4 wiring terminal on the side of the opener are Left two controller, right two sensors

Is the "Motion Detector Control Panel" the device that the controller terminals connect to? If so, then those terminals are not correct for the I/O Linc. Who is the manufacturer of the control panel? Have you removed the cover or looked at the back of the panel for a model number?

All working. Added wires to the motion detector control on the momentary switch that tell the PCB to open the door. It now works. Thanks all

Hello, in browsing the Smarthome forums from 2014 I noticed that [email protected] had finally solved his problem of his i/o linc not communicating with his Chamberlain garage door opener. I was wondering if anyone could help me solve the same problem. Insteon support was no help. Any help would be so much appreciated.

Which model? Most especially, the wall controller.

These are MyQ enabled openers. They do not play nice with the I/O linc.

You can try this thread for assistance:

I contacted Chamberlain tech support, and was advised that Chamberlain devices are not compatible with home automation systems. So, I bought their internet gateway, which is working quite nicely.

Thanks to all for your input.
