Posted - 10/15/2019 : 10:52:09 AM Hi everyone,
I'm trying to change my actual thermostat (1F85U-22PR) to a RTH9585wf
I'm not sure about the wiring.
If anybody could point me in the right direction, I would appreciate a lot and also save a lot of money :)
My wiring is actually like this picture... (I have heat and air conditionning)
RC is a red wire RH has nothing O/B is an orange wire Y is a yellow wire G is a green wire W/E is a white wire C is a black wire
Thanks in advance,

I've called to the company (honeywell) and they also say it's not compatible with my system. They told me I should go with the prestige series instead.
I've check with the nest and they told me it should work with my system. So I think I will go with the nest probably.
Next time I will check before I buy!

Posted - 10/16/2019 : 07:24:41 AM This is how it usually goes:
- RC is your 24V power for cooling but probably powers both heat and cooling which would explain why 24RH (power of heating) is empty. - O/B is usually used for reversing valves on heat pumps but could be used for 3 stage heating environments. <--This is important because the RTH9585wf is not rated for heat pumps or base board heating. You may have a compatibility issue. - Y is stage 1 cooling - G is for the fan - W/E - white is usually stage 1 heating but the E could be for emergency heating. - C is a common wire usually needed for smart thermostats, or running the thermostat without batteries. |
