As I look through amazon for Cat5e and or Cat6 wire I see a cost difference for different brands. Does brand really matter or is this the "Monster Cable" mark up in affect? Also I was talking to a satellite installer and he was saying that quad shielded RG6 is over kill. Tour thoughts and input is welcome....

If you are doing for your home, quality does not really matter much but totally avoid cheap know off as they have low-grade copper. Monster Cable pricing is an overkill, so buy accordingly. |

FWIW, I just packed up and will be returning a cheap 50' cable. The modular connectors do no fit snug enough, connection gets lost. |
