Field fencing is the best way to get rid of all attacking animals.

My mother used to keep them out by chopping up old pairs of panty hose. They can smell the skin on the panty hose. Other than that, a 30-30 usually works for me!

That's what I use to minimize squirrel intrusions. It works, mostly!

You can try the following options:

chicken mesh wiring around the garden
deer repellents such as deerout and liquid fence
or this thing (my personal favorite):

We use field fencing for our veggie garden and that works. Otherwise, you just need to share the space and look for plants they don't like .. lavender, oleander, rosemary, zinnia ..
