Posted - 11/18/2019 : 02:56:14 AM We currently have a first floor livable house (3br, 1 bath, kitchen, living room, dining room, approx 12-1500sqft)
We also have a 2nd story attic that is down to rafters.
We plan on adding the 2nd story and making it a 4bd 3.5bath or 4bd 4bath (leaving first flr full bath is discussion were still having)
House is currently heated by steam heat and window ac.
We are being told different things by real estate, contractors, and family/friends.
Is is smart financially (resale) to remove steam heat? Is it true steamheat is the healthiest and most efficient? Will a steam boiler last 3-4x as long as a compressor?
Our thoughts are to do full hvac on 2nd story and push ac down and keep steam heat on first floor.
Quote and architectural drawings can be provided to those via pm if needed for providing a true opinion.
