I'm exploring the possibility of incorporating dampers with Homekit and Ecobee. My home will have two HVAC zones (opposite sides of house). The sleeping ending of the home has three bedroom. We are retired so I don't expect two of the rooms to be occupied much and would like to isolate them from HVAC when no guests are around ) or control to a different set point. Who has tied Ecobee thromostat and room sensors to a damper or automated vents with Homekit. Suggestions on most cost effective solution. The home is new construction. Thanks for you input

Indeed, it is the right decision to isolate some rooms from HVAC when no guests are around and or control to a different set point. We also made such transformations because we leave them all the time and children come very rarely to our house. So, we do not need to eat such large areas and pay for it. Really, it economizes money a lot. We found some interesting information and recommendations online.
