Posted - 01/22/2020 : 11:49:49 AM I haven't built since the advent of smart home apps. I have finished framing and the walls are open. Old fashioned or not, I wish to hardwire the system so as not to worry about batteries ever and to hide the sensors. I am covering 12 doors but could easily pair some in series. I am adding glass break detection only to cover the casement windows.
I am looking for a HomeKit compatible panel. I am not married to a particular brand but I am aware of the Honeywell Lyric panel which supports HomeKit and can be wired to another HW box that allows connection of 9 hardwires.
• Is this a way to go? Is there another system to consider that is HomeKit and hardwire supportive?
• The house is single level, spread out. Is there a system that would support hardwired secondary panel? • The home will have additional wiFi points. Maybe a secondary panel is not needed so much with the phone app?
