Is it common to not have the door from the house to the garage set as a zone in a system?

I just got a vista 20p and planning the zones and my pre-wired house built in 2014 does not have a wire at the door from the kitchen to the garage. ALL other doors do. Is this common? Or was the pre-wiring job skimping?

Thanks for any input!

answering my question for posterity yes, this is commonly covered in a system. Using a toner, I discovered the wire was in the wall and door jamb area, teh installers just never finished it off. After digging in the wall for 2 hours, got it all set.
