I have a hunter ceiling fan that has a faulty remote control module. I want to remove the module and run the fan straight from a wall switch or maybe a rheostat. It doesn't matter if I only get high speed as it will reside in my barn if I can fix it. Can anyone point me in the direction for an answer?

Which specific Hunter ceiling fan module. BTW, rheostats for home use haven't been made for 50 or more years. Dimming (light) and inductive (motor) loads are controlled by electronic controllers noe, each needing a different type of controller.

They're only a bit costly, $50-$100, but the maximum load (amperes) matters.
