Iím only using the relay function and not sensor function of the IO linc.. when turning on IYY program I get error message that i/o sensor is not communicating with the ISY. How can I turn off the sensor function to prevent the error message from appearing.

The error message isnít specific to the sensor, itís an indication that the ISY isnít able to confirm that signals are getting through to the module. That can happen if thereís some kind of power line signal interference on the circuit powering that module. Sometimes I can fix garage issues by plugging a dual-band unit into the pass-through outlet on the IOLinc, other times I need to isolate another gadget with a filter.

The I/O Linc is an older design Insteon Module.
Power line communications only.
You could have a signal issue as pointed out.
A Dual Band module in the garage maybe needed.
The range extender module or maybe a On/Off or Lamplinc module would work.
Have you asked in the UDI Forums?
They have great customer support.

When you added the I/O Linc to your ISY994i. It automatically add both the output relay and the sensor input. I don't think you can remove the sensor input without the relay also being removed. I believe if you disable the I/O Linc in the ISY panel. Both the relay and sensor are disabled.
