I was about to toss my old hub when it hit me that I may be able to stick it out of sight somewhere and use it as a range extender/repeater. Is this possible and if so how would I set it up?

Just plug it into a wall outlet somewhere, the Ethernet cable doesn’t need to be connected for it to work as a mesh repeater. For best results, avoid plugging into a noise filter/surge arrester or UPS, as some of them will treat the INSTEON power line signal as noise.

Excellent, so I don't have to "discover it" or add it to the network via the app or anything along those lines? Just plug it in and walk away?
