I need to be able to turn on an appliance through the smartphone app, then have the insteon outlet turn off automatically after a predetermined amount of time (e.g. 5 minutes). Is this possible and how would it be programmed through the hub. Thanks.

Is this appliance using mechanical controls, something that you can turn on and off by plugging in and unplugging the power cord? If so, you could plug it into an On/Off module, link it to a Hub Pro, then control it via your HomeKit devices (iPhone/iPad/HomePod/Siri). Thereís an Automations setting in the Home app (iOS 11.3 beta and above) to automatically turn the module back off x minutes after turning on.

If it's the outlet itself that is turning on/off, the. You can use stringify to turn the outlet off 5 minutes after it turns on.

Ok, so if I donít have a HomeKit and only have #2242-222 Insteon Hub, on/off outlet and 8-button mini remotes, how do I program letís say the ďAĒ button on the mini remote to only stay on for 10 minutes and then turn off automatically?

Not sure what Stringify is...

Hot water heater pump Grundfos with the timer and "on/off" switches.
(1) Insteon Hub #2242-222 Rev 2.2
(1) Appliance Linc #2456S3
(2) Access Points #2443
(2) Mini Remotes #2342-2
(1) On/Off Module #2635-222

Stringify is the combination of a phone app and a service that runs in the cloud. Stringify doesnít support the Mini Remote or the 2242 Hub.

With a model 2245 Hub, you could trigger a Stringify timer by tapping a button on the app that would turn the device on, wait 10 minutes, then turn it back off.

Is there some sort of timer build into the pump itself?
