Hi Smarthome Pros!

Wondering if anyone can help me with a project.

I have a hydraulically operated valve which needs a remote momentary jog control from an android OS.

I have been looking at a 2453-222 and was wondering if by using a 994i I would be able to program the 2453-222 output contact to close with a momentary on time of say one second.

Powering up the valve actuator for short pulses would enable me to accurately control the flow rate through the valve. I would use two insteon devices - one to open one to close.

If this is not possible, an alternative I thought that I could use a 2453-222 feeding into a one-shot timed relay set for 1 second. However it sure would be nice to just do it all on one device per direction.

I have not bought any "smarthome" items for this project yet.

The existing hydraulic valve control setup is non-domotics.

I was also wondering if any android i/o have a momentary switch icon? - Not a big deal as it is just an icon...

Reliability and Simplicity would be more important than cost.

Any thoughts?

How critical is the one-second time? What are the consequences if the valve fails to open or close?

Have you seen the iolinc?
