Are there any smart thermostats on the market that have an ethernet connection option? I've done a quick search and couldn't find anything.

I'm currently using an Ecobee3 which I've been fairly happy with other than it disconnects from the wifi about once every couple weeks. It's currently 7-8 feet from my Ubiquiti AC Pro access point and as you can imagine, the signal is great in it's location. It's just a pain to reconnect every few weeks. I figure with it being hard wired, I wouldn't have this problem.

Well, this would be a bit complicated, but you should see the solution by using arduino with thermostats module and ethernet module.
