| Well, it's time to change thermostat manufacturer.
After less than a year on the TWO year warranty my E failed. Troubleshot with the customer 'support' people who made promises and then DIDN'T DO ANYTHING.
OH my yes, Sir, we will overnight a new thermostat to you.
Then the phone calls start.
"I'm taking over your case, Sir. I will be handling your case from now on."
It went on and on, back and forth, most lip service, more stroking the (former) customer. I finally gave up. NO one would commit to the replacement thermostat being sent out tomorrow (day after Thanksgiving in the US) OVERNIGHT as was promised by the first rep.
FOUR reps later I gave up. Nothing but more BS.
1. If you want a reliable thermostat don't buy a Nest product.
2. Ask here to see what other brands will function.
3. I realize some have had good luck with Nest. *I* am not one of those people.
4. When a warranty claim rears it's ugly head, it's apparent that Nest doesn't honor their proclaimed warranty.
Caveat Emptor folks.
