I am new to this website. I need some suggestions for buying a new ceiling fan. Its for my kitchen, as it tends to get rather hot while I am cooking. I have never bought one before, so could you tell me what I should be looking for when buying a fan? I need something affordable and it should not consume too much electricity. Thank you

First of all, I suggest you install a exhaust fan for your kitchen. These fans are right ventilation system for your kitchen.

I agree with charlesey. You have to install an exhaust fan. It will be safer especially for the health as it will regulate steam, smoke odors and fumes. It will help keep the temperature normal too, meaning it will be less hot.
