I'm looking for an exterior wall switch for my dock. At that location is where the power source is located. I would also like to have a remote control for the switch from my house (100ft away) where I can turn the lights on and off. I don't need any fancy Wifi connection to my iPhone. I just need the remote from within the house to be able to turn the dock lights on and off. I also do not need a dimmer. Any suggestions would be grateful! Thank you.

See https://www.smarthome.com/2477s-alt and https://www.smarthome.com/2477d-alt . Mount the exterior switch in a weatherproof enclosure. Use the dimmer (doesn’t click like the switch does) as the interior remote.

That's great but I was hoping that the remote be smaller, similar to a key chain device.

Not too sure about Insteon RF distance to the dock. or another Dual Band module receiving the RF signals and passing it on to the dock's Insteon Switch.
The Insteon Mini-Remote maybe OK for the remote. https://www.smarthome.com/insteon-2342-232-mini-remote-4-scene.html

I think Tfitpatri8 meant the 2342-242 remote switch with the 2477S. Its about the size of a decorator paddle. You can pair that with the 2477S for remote control.

Both of these devices (2342-242 and 2342-232) have distant specs for 50ft. I need somewhere around 100ft. Any other ideas?

BLH is right, the dual-band devices automatically form a dual-band mesh repeater network.

If you still go with the combo I recommended, you can add the unit Sean suggested for mobile operation. Then your single band remote just has to be in radio range of a dual-band device, then that unit can repeat the signal the longer distance over your power lines.

That also offers the added advantage that you won’t ever misplace a remote control that wires into the house!
