I have a 2420M motion sensor in my kitchen that has a program running with it that turns on the kitchen lights for 3 minutes between 10pm and 6am. It has worked flawlessly for a long time. It didn't work last night and I notice the red light did not blink in the sensor. So today I put a new battery in it thinking that was the issue. The old 9V was a year old so it was about time. But even with the new battery, the light does not blink even after holding the reset button for 5 seconds or more. Did my old reliable 2420M die?

Did you check the new battery’s voltage to verify it is still good? Not many devices use 9 volt batteries these days, so you may have picked up one that went bad on store shelves.

I ended up doing a factory reset and that revived the sensor. Strange. But it's working again.

Glad you got it working again.
I had one where no things being done would bring it back to life. Even a Factory Reset.
