A Holiday emergency! I purchased LED flame-bulbs for my outside light-fixtures. But instead of "flickering"... They just pulse on/off. I'm thinking the problem may be caused by the X-10 switches that control the bulbs? Help?

Are the bulbs rated for use on dimmer switches?

If the switches are the two wire dimmer type. They steal power through the load and are made for incandescent loads only.
You maybe able to keep one standard bulb on the setup and satisfy the switches power supply needs.

It does look like the bulbs are not dimmable. As they have their own electronics to make them flicker and are not made for a dimmer type switch.

The switches are not the dimmer-type... They are push on/off.

I think all the x10 dimmers are pushbutton. If you take the wall plate off the front, can you see a model number or a label mentioning incandescent lights?

Does it matter what wattage the add-on incandescent bulb should be?

Small incandescent bulb(s) did the trick!

PS: I have pictures... But can't figure out how to post them.

It seems that we can not post pics here. You can post the pictures on other places, such as your facebook, ins, etc, and post the link here. So we can know the problem clearly.

FYI: I made a modification... The two clear bulbs distorted the flames so I painted them with high-temperature black-paint.
