Hey everyone, I'm attempting to install a new GoSund smart switch to power my outside porch lights (this home has the switch for the porch lights all the way on the other side of the house). It's an older 1970's-80's home. See https://imgur.com/a/lOjgtjW for the wires I found. It appears I have two hot and one ground without a neutral. Anyone know which is which? The black and white ones were connected to a simple unipolar switch with the copper exposed one buried in the wire bundle, disconnected.

Any help would be appreciated. Thanks!

The photo shows it is a switch loop. No Neutral in the switch box.

Where the Line is usually on the White wire [may have a black marking on it] and the Black is the connection to the Load. With the old switch disconnected. You maybe able to use a meter and measure the two wires to the bare ground. One would be 120 VAC Line

At the light end there would be the Neutral for the lights need.

Since there is no Neutral inside the switch box. You can't use the new switch. As it needs Line, Neutral and Load connections.
