Hi There.
I am looking to control an Insteon outlet based on temperature. The scenario is to turn on a space heater in the garage when the temperature gets below a certain temperature.

I have an ELK 240V relay which will be turned on and off by an Insteon Outlet. I just need a device that will tell the Outlet to Turn on or Off.

I have an Insteon Hub.

I considered the Insteon Thermostat but am not sure it will work, plus it appears to be discontinued.

I would considered other Smart Hubs that may work better.

Your input is appreciated. :)

You maybe able to get a thermostat to switch the Sense Input on an I/OLinc and it could control the outlet directly or you could use the I/OLinc Sense input state to do something through the HUB.

The Insteon Thermostat from what I could see from the FCC Database photos. Had Triac outputs and needed an AC control voltage to work correctly.

A mechanical or battery operated thermostat. Would have dry contacts you could use the switch the Sense Input of an I/OLinc as it is a 5 volt internally generated sensing voltage.
