Hello all. I am looking to integrate smart lighting on a new construction for my personal home. I came across solutions from control4 and lutron homeworks. These systems are wired very differently than conventional electrical wiring. I want to know if there are similar DIY-friendly systems that I can install on my own.
I can run all the wiring to a central location next to the main breaker panel, but it seems like there is no way to buy control4 or homeworks components without going through a dealer/installer.
The sponsor of this forum sells a collection of line-voltage switches that are a retrofit for traditional switches and wiring, as do many other firms now. Just be sure to wire each switch box with a neutral and you should be fine.
