I'm here to do similar research.
Our house is set up with Z-Wave Plus. I've been gradually adding nodes, either through repeaters or light switches. Everything has performed very well (sometimes it takes a while for the system to build the mesh network) with the distinct exception of Schlage/Nexia keypad locks.
When our installation first happened the home security group installed a Kwikset. Admittedly it's much closer to the main hub than any of the Schlage products I'm attempting to use, but it's been far, far more satisfactory than the Schlage units. A shame really, as I have thousands invested in Schlage components as our family moved through a succession of houses.
After performing some limited research, it seems others are having similar issues with Schlage Z-wave enabled locks. The Kwiksets appear to be much less troublesome, once the initial secure Z-wave pairing is completed (must have the module close to the main hub for initial secure pairing, then install in its permanent location afterward).
I'll be interested to read what others might add. |
