I purchased a new Insteon Remote Control On/Off Switch 2466SW.

HouseLinc does list it as "unrecognized device". Does anyone have an idea why? I would have thought an older device should be no problem.
The good news: it seems to kind of function (on/off)

I see it listed in my DEVICES.XML file v2.9.87. Keep in mind HouseLinc is no longer supported but I still like it.

The update server was shut down a while ago. Did you manually update to the latest devices file?

I have not updated the device file for a long time. Did not expect that the file is still maintained. Mine is 2.8.94
I actually can find entries for 2644. The device has a label rev 6.6 1118 or 111B. Does this revision correspond to firmware? My xml file shows 0xD5 as the latest firmware.
Not sure if I need to manually update the file or if I have some communication issue?

Rev 6.6 is the hardware revision. 1118 is the date code.

Firmware version is most likely not the same as the hardware revision.
I have a few different hardware revisions of a 2413S PLM. They all have the same firmware in them.

Insteon still updates that definition file when they release updated FW of supported devices.

Try giving the below a shot:

***Make sure Houselinc is completely closed, it should not even be showing in the device tray when you do this***

Id give it a shot since the page shows that it was recently updated...they may have only updated the file. ;)

It does look like that may have happened.
I downloaded the latest on the site and the devices.xml was a later revision than I had.
